Compensatory Hours

This type of consultation focuses on individual students, typically students for whom the district has had difficulty providing appropriate services or placement.  Educational Equity can provide services to make up compensatory hours required. Attendance and consultation on the student’s IEP is also sometimes part of this type of consultation to work with the educators and family to craft an appropriate program.  Reports are included to support the evaluation and consultation process.

Coaching can take on many forms:

Individual teacher coaching can be a follow up to a workshop. Individual time with the teacher can determine ability to implement new strategies learned in workshop. Coaching is done privately but is not confidential. A summary is provided to administration and teacher. Administrator can be present or not. All coaching is not evaluative and related to individual teacher needs. A form can be provided in advance to teachers to direct observation and debriefing session.

Staff training: Coaching may take the form of classroom observation with coordinator or program support person. A checklist is provided to understand what should be observed in classrooms. Debriefing time is provided to discuss ideas, and suggestions. This type of coaching is to training support people by showing how to improve support to teachers.

Administrator Trainings

Our facilitators in your venue for a day of deep learning on the topic selected by hosting agency. Workshops can be tailored to suite your needs.  Formats can range from half day to full day training. A full list of workshops can be found on the Educational Equity for All website. Workshops are listed by general categories: Autism, Behavior, Common Core, Differentiation & UDL, Foundational Workshops for Moderate to Severe Student populations, General Education, Individual Education Plans, Classroom Instruction, Paraeductors, Parents and Teambuilding.   One Site Professional Development

Educational Equity for All recognizes that Professional Development is a systematic process for staff training. Research has shown that large group workshops on a regular basis along with small group and individual coaching has the greatest impact on changes in teaching practice. I propose large group workshops; follow up individual coaching sessions (on-site or off-site) and administrator sessions for observation and accountability.  In order to build capacity and provide teacher support in an ongoing formation, I also proposal sessions to train middle management teams: Program Specialists, Teachers on Special Assignments and/or Content Teachers.

Full implementation takes a few years of consistent commitment and accountability.

I have worked with school districts over years to both develop and maintain their programming for these students through professional development, coaching and ongoing assistance.  Typically this type of consultation begins with a program evaluation (described above) and continues to provide ongoing support to the program through district-wide and classroom-based consultation as needed.  This model typically involves regular visits to the district that include classroom visits, and professional development to help to build capacity.  Reports are provided as needed based on the visits with targeted recommendations.
